DMD MISSION STATEMENT
The Disciplemaking Ministries is involved in making healthy disciples by winning the lost, building the believer, equipping the worker, multiplying the leader, and sending the called ones.

1. SALVATION – Acts 16:31 (Winning)
Knows the biblical steps to salvation and assurance of salvation
Has prayed to receive Christ as personal Savior
Can clearly express why Jesus is indeed the only way to God
Can explain the benefits of salvation
Can defend his/her faith
2. BIBLE KNOWLEDGE AND APPLICATION – James 1:22 (Building)
Understands that the Bible is God’s absolute truth
Knows the major Old Testament and New Testament stories and characters
Understands basic Bible doctrines (God the Father, Jesus the Son, Holy Spirit, Bible, sin, salvation, church, Second Coming)
Has learned the essentials for Christian growth (prayer, Bible reading, forgiveness, overcoming temptation, fellowship, witnessing, faith, stewardship of time/money/talents)
Demonstrates bible truths in everyday life (honest, truthful, thankful, patient, humble)
Has confidence in the Bible’s reliability as God’s revelation
Has an overview of Old Testament and New Testament information
Recognizes that Jesus is the Christian’s authority (Lordship)
Understands the concept of the Spirit-filled life and is experiencing it

3. BIBLE MEMORY – Psalm 119:11 (Building)
Has memorized key verses and passages (plan of salvation, 10 commandments, Great Commandment, Great Commission, Psalm 23, Lord’s Prayer, Fruit of the Spirit, Armor of God)
Knows books of the Bible
Has committed essential Bible verses to memory (assurance of salvation, resisting temptation, etc.)
Has memorized key scriptures pointing to salvation (John 3:16, Romans 3:23, 5:8, and 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, and John 1:12)
Continues to review Scripture that was previously memorized
4. HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS (Building)
A. Personal: one-on-one (1 Peter 1:22)
Respects and obeys parents, teachers, and others
Demonstrates loyalty and love for Christian friends
Demonstrates willingness to forgive
Demonstrates that God is central in personal relationships with others
Accepts and includes those who are different than themselves
Adheres to the biblical standard of sexual purity

B. Corporate: the church (Ephesians 4:16)
Understands the privilege of corporate worship, communion, and baptism

Clearly understands the biblical command to be filled (empowered and controlled) with the Spirit

Relies on the daily control and empowerment of the Holy Spirit
Demonstrates the fruit and fullness of the Spirit in his/her daily lives
8. GIFTS, TALENTS, AND SKILLS – Romans 12:6 (Equipping)
Understands God’s provision of spiritual gifts for every believer
Demonstrates an interest in being useful to God and others
Has the ability to express personal testimony
Has the ability to lead someone to Christ

9. OUTREACH – Proverbs 11:30 (Equipping)

10. STEWARDSHIP – 1 Corinthians 4:2 (Equipping)
Gives an offering regularly

Willfully and joyfully gives spontaneously in addition to regular planned giving
Demonstrates personal sacrifice of time and possessions for the benefit of others
11. CHRISTIAN SERVICE – 1 Peter 4:9-10 (Multiplying/Sending)
Helps at home
Performs acts of kindness to people in need
Intentionally shares his/her faith outside of the church environment
Understands the concept of spiritual gifts and is using them in ministry
Willingly serves in Kingdom ministries both within and outside the church walls
Intentionally involved in church service to pass on the faith to future generations
12. MISSIONS INVOLVEMENT - Matthew 28:19, Acts 1:8 (Multiplying/Sending)
Demonstrates a growing awareness that people need to know Christ
Prays for missionaries
Financially participates in Great Commission ministry
Participates regularly in missions awareness events
Knows, prays, and supports specific missionary endeavors
